U.S. Constitution Test
|

The test offered
through our agency has been accepted by the California
Commission on Teacher Credentialing for many years. Upon successful completion of the
examination, a certificate is awarded, a photocopy of which may be presented to the
credential advisor to be included in the credential application.

The results are recorded in the
San Jose State University, International and Extended Education
Department, | |

No course credit is awarded; the test results will not appear on a transcript.

If you have not been directly referred to our agency by your credential advisor, it would be appropriate to inform the advisor of your intention to take this exam as fees are non-refundable. |
|
The registration fee includes excellent study material, testing, formal certificate (with a copy for your credential advisor) and recording results at San Jose State University. | |
|
Registration may be completed by mail or in person at our office in Santa Clara. |
|
Registration fee is $35 for registration | |
|
Fee is paid in advance; it is non-refundable and is applicable for one year. | |

Cash, personal checks or money orders are accepted. | |
|
"Bounced checks" subject to $25 service charge. | |
|
Fee includes the study materials as well as the examination. | |
|
The materials are exceptionally helpful; no additional research material will be necessary. | |

Usually, candidates can prepare for and pass the test within 2 weeks. | |

We are also available Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Santa Clara location for registration.
Registration may be paid and materials picked up in the Santa Clara Adult
Education office
Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday's 8:30 a.m. - 4:30
p.m.
There are some office closures which are beyond our control and advance
knowledge.

(The main office is currently too busy and understaffed to be able to provide booklets. We are in the process of arranging a convenient way to pick up booklets and will post the change as soon as we are able.)

Testing Dates

Every Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. in Santa Clara | |

Every Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. in city of Fremont | |
|
Select the preferred test date either at time of registration | |
|
On the testing date, arrive 15 minutes early. | |
|
You may wish to visit the restroom prior to taking the test. |

(The Fremont testing site is not always a quiet environment. We have good earplugs available if desired.) |

The test consists of 50 multiple choice questions and four very short (75 - 100 words) essays. | |
|
The study guide is completely adequate for the multiple choice section. | |
|
The actual essay questions are included in the booklet along with a rubric. | |
|
The essays must be written during the test, "from the heart" not from notes. | |
|
Test materials and paper will be provided. |
|
You will receive the results of the multiple choice portion of the test immediately after the test is completed. | |
|
The essays are usually read and graded on Friday of the same week. | |
|
The certificate is usually mailed to your address on Friday or early the next week. If results are needed by a certain date, please inform us. |
